In the left menu bar of vPlan, you will find the Browse function. Browse is the general search function of vPlan. Here you will find all planned, unplanned and archived cards from all planboards. Want to quickly find a card and don't know which planboard and period to look in? With the browse overview you can always find the card and navigate directly to the planboard where the card is planned. In this article you will read all the features of the browse overview.

Browse

The Browse feature is your general search function across all your planboards and your entire plan history. To find cards with this feature, click Browse in the left menu.
The function opens a view of all your cards from all your planboards divided into multiple pages (depending on the amount of cards in your vPlan environment).

Tip

With Browse, you can also quickly delete many cards at once.

To open a card, click on its name.

Filter

vPlan distinguishes between all, planned, unplanned and archived cards. These filter buttons can be found at the top right of the overview.

  • All: all cards present in your vPlan environment.

  • Planned: all cards that are planned on one of your planboards.

  • Unplanned: all card that are still in the backlog of one of your planboards.

  • Archived: all cards that are archived. Only applicable if you have an integration with ERP software.

Number of cards per page

At the bottom right of the browse overview you can adjust the number of results per page. You can choose to show 25, 50 or 100 cards on a page.

List or tile view

At the top right of the browse overview you can define how the cards are displayed on the page. You can choose list or tile view:

List

All cards are shown in a list with columns. If you select list, you can also tick cards and thus delete them in bulk.
With list you can also sort the results on your page by clicking on the column headings Name, Description, Start Date, End Date or Due date.

To the far right of the list line you can click the arrow (>). This navigates you to the card in the planboard.

Tiles

Cards are displayed as tiles. Choose this view if you want to see more information about a collection with all related cards. With the tile view you can also see which cards are all related to the collection. You can click on the gray bars to open the card planned on that date.

The colored dots to the left before the date indicate the status of the planned card. At the top right, you can click the arrow (>) to display these planned cards on the planboard.

Advanced search

In browse it is possible to perform advanced search on fields within collections and cards. When using an integration, it is also possible to search by specific integration fields, such as customer or items.

vPlan searches on all standard available collection data. You can now quickly apply filters in the search window. To choose a filter, first type the "colon" (:) sign. A menu appears with all the filters that can be specifically searched for. When you have chosen a filter you can enter the search term. All collections that match the search term will be displayed. It is possible to apply multiple filters in a single search.

You can search on the following data:

Archiving and restoring

Cards created by an integration can be archived. This is done by archiving the collection from the backlog. In the Browse view, you can specifically filter for archived collections. You can undo the archiving in the list view by clicking the Restore icon () in the line. The collection then becomes available again in the backlog.
