With advanced filters, you can filter your board by almost any card detail. This includes the name, a date, a label, a custom field, or the customer linked to an order. You can combine multiple conditions using and or or, so you only see the cards you need.
Advanced filters are located below the Quick filters in the filter menu. You can use them on their own or together with Quick filters. If you use them together, you’ll only see cards that match both.
Tip
Your filters are saved per view. Feel free to create a separate view for a filter you use often. Read more in Personalized and shared views.
Setting up an advanced filter
Open the board and click the filter icon (funnel) at the top. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + F (Option + Shift + F on a Mac).
Expand Advanced filters using the arrow and turn on the toggle.
Click Add filter.
Under Choose a field to filter by, select a field, such as Status or End date.
Choose a condition, such as Is one of, Contains, or Is after.
Enter a value or select one from the list.
Click Apply.
At the bottom of the filter menu, you can immediately see how many cards match your new filter and whether this is more or fewer than the current number of cards. This lets you see the results before clicking Apply.
Combining multiple conditions
When you add a second filter, you can choose at the beginning of the rule whether both conditions must be met (and) or whether either condition is sufficient (or). All rules at the same level follow this choice.
Want to combine and and or? Click Add group. Within a group, you can choose between and/or again. For example:
Status is one of To do
and the group:
End date is before November 1
Label is one of Urgent
You’ll then see all cards with the status To do that either have an end date before November 1 or have the label Urgent.
Note
You can add a maximum of 25 conditions and groups. A rule that has not been fully completed is not included in the filter.

Click Reset all. This clears both Quick filters and advanced filters.
The number next to the filter icon at the top of your board shows how many filters are active. This makes it easy to see at a glance that you’re not viewing all cards.
