vPlan app menu

Updated yesterday

Tap the icon with three lines in the top left corner to open the menu. From this menu, you can easily navigate through the app.

Use the menu to quickly find what you need from any view within the app.

This article explains each feature of the menu one by one, so you’ll know exactly where to find everything.

Search

With the search function in the menu, you can easily search for cards across your entire environment. This means you’re not limited to one board, your search includes all cards, no matter which board they’re on.

You can open a card directly from the search results by tapping it. From there, you can immediately make any changes, such as updating the status, adding a description, or changing the date.

This way, you can quickly find and edit any card without first having to navigate to the right board.

Notifications

A user can receive notifications when they are assigned to a card as a resource or when they are mentioned in a comment on a card. This means you don’t have to constantly open the app, you’ll be proactively notified instead.

To receive notifications in the vPlan app, you’ll need to give the app permission to send them. You’ll be asked this the first time you use the app, and you can allow it if you wish. If you want to change this later, you can always adjust it in your mobile device’s settings.

When new notifications arrive, a red dot with the number of new notifications will appear on the menu icon:

If you open the menu and tap the bell icon, , you’ll see all notifications. The notification screen displays them in order of arrival. When you tap a notification, the corresponding card will open.

Views

From the menu, you can access the views Home, Planning, Time Tracking, and All Cards. The first three overviews can also be accessed via the taskbar at the bottom of the planning screen and are explained in separate articles.

In the All Cards overview, you’ll see a list of all cards within your environment, regardless of which board they belong to. This gives you a complete overview of everything that’s planned, handy when you want to quickly find something or check the status of multiple cards.

By default, the newest cards are shown at the top. You can change the sorting using the filter in the top left corner. You can also filter by board, status, labels, resources, and a specific date range.

Additionally, you can choose whether to show or hide parent cards, subcards, and recurring cards, the filter works the same way as in other views.

In the top right corner, you can adjust your preferences. Here, you decide which information is shown in the card overview (such as in the list or calendar view) and which details are visible when opening a card. This allows you to customize the layout to your own preferences.

You can also create a new card from this overview by tapping the plus icon in the top right corner. A screen will open where you can select the board and phase for the card. You can then enter a title, description, and date. Tap Add in the top right corner, and the card will be added to your planning.

Boards

From Boards in the menu, you can easily navigate between different boards in your environment. Tap a board to expand it. You’ll then see the available views, just like in the web version. Choose the view you want to work in, such as list, calendar, timeline, or kanban and you’ll be taken directly to the selected view.

This article explains the different views in more detail.

Profile

In the vPlan app, you can easily view your profile. When you tap your avatar at the bottom of the menu (your avatar shows your photo or initials), you’ll access your profile information.

On the profile page, you can view your user details. From here, you can also go to Settings, or log out at the bottom of the page.

With the dots at the bottom of the menu, you can quickly navigate to the right place, whether you want to view your profile, open the help widget to read an article or contact support, go to your settings, switch users, or log out.
