In the vPlan app, you can decide how you want to view your planning. You can do this by adding new views or managing existing ones.
When you’re in a view, you’ll see the title of the view at the top left. Tap the title to open a dropdown menu. Here you’ll find:
A list of all existing views within this planning board
The options Add view and Manage views
Add view
New views
Here, you can choose from all the available views in the app, such as:
Day overview
Card overview
List
Timeline
Kanban
Agenda
Capacity
Backlog
You can find more information about these different views in the article vPlan app views.
Note
Views that you add in the app will also be visible in your web version of vPlan, and vice versa.
Shared views
In addition to creating a new view, you can also select from shared views. These are views created by a colleague, either in the app or the web version, and shared with you. This way, you don’t have to set up a view from scratch but can immediately work with the same layout as the rest of your team. This is especially useful when you’re collaborating within the same board and everyone wants to use the same structure and insights.
Manage views
In Manage views, you can edit, share, or add new views. When you open a view in the Manage views menu, you’ll see two tabs: General and Access. If you choose to share the view with other users in the Access tab, a third tab called Security will appear.
General
In the General tab, you can rename the view.
Access
In the Access tab, you decide who can access the view. This can be an entire group of users or specific individuals. When you choose to share the view, the Security tab will automatically appear, where you can configure access rights.

Edit permissions
Here, you can specify which parts other users are allowed to modify in the shared view: filters, preferences, or columns. Check the boxes for the elements others may edit.
Protect view
Once you’ve granted edit permissions, you can decide whether changes are saved permanently.
Protect view on: Only the owner can make permanent changes. Other users can make temporary edits, but when they refresh the page, the view resets to its original state.
Protect view off: Changes made by other users are saved in their own version of the view. The owner can still make edits, but these won’t automatically apply to others.
Note
When Protect view is turned on, changes made by the owner apply to everyone. When it’s off, each user works in their own copy.
Set as default
This option allows you to set a shared view as the default view for one or more users.
Option off: The shared view is available but not active by default.
Option on: The shared view automatically opens as the default for the selected user(s).
When you enable this, a dropdown menu appears where you can choose from all users or specific ones. This works together with the settings in the Access tab.
For example, if the view is only shared with organisers, you can only select organisers when setting the default.
