Automatically add a follower
Updated over 6 months ago

With these automations, you can make sure that as a user you are an automatic follower of certain cards. When you follow a card, you receive notifications when other users change the date or status of a card, for example. There are several automations to automatically become a follower, based on a status change, when creating a collection, when a resource is added or when a label is added.

Status change

This automation allows you to set a particular user to follow a card when the status is changed.

  • When the status of a card changes to something, add/remove something as a follower

The conditions you set are status, user and add or delete. First, you choose which status to add or remove a follower from. Then you choose which user to add or remove as a follower, and finally you choose whether you want a user to be added or removed as a follower.

Creating a collection

With this automation, you can make sure that a user is a follower of all cards automatically. By setting this automation, you yourself will be automatically added as a follower to all collections that are created.

  • When collection is created, add current user as follower

Note

This automation only works when creating a collection, which happens in the backlog. Read more about the difference between a collection and a card here.

Assigned resource

With this automation, you can ensure that your colleagues on the shop floor, who also use vPlan, automatically become followers of a card when they are added to a card as a resource.

  • When resource is added to a ticket, add as follower

Note

The prerequisite for using this automation is that the user and the resource are linked. You can read how to do that here.

Adding a label

This automation allows you to set up that a particular user follows a card when a label is added.

  • When label something is added to a card, add/remove something as a follower

The conditions you set are label, user and add or remove. First you choose which label to add or remove a follower to. Then you choose whether you want a user to be added or removed as a follower, and lastly you choose which user to add or remove as a follower.
