Step 3: navigating
Updated over 6 months ago

Now that you have chosen a view and an overview, you will end up in your planboard. This step explains how you can easily navigate the vPlan planboard.

Different buttons

At the top of each view you will find Today with arrows next to it. If you click on the Today button, you will immediately be sent to the period in which today falls. If you click on the arrows next to them, you go forward or backward a period.

Periods

At the top left of your planning board, you will find the standard periods that we know in vPlan. Here you can choose day, week, month or year.

Reverse axes

Do you work in the calendar? Then you can reverse the axes. By default, the days are on the vertical axis, and your chosen element (stages, statuses, resources) are on the horizontal axis. With this button: you can reverse the axes. You can find this under the periods, at the top left of your planboard.

Full view

If you want to show as much planning and as little unnecessary information as possible on a screen, you can use the Full view button at the top of the menu bar. You will find this button at the top of vPlan, to the left of the search bar: . It shows vPlan on full screen and automatically hides your browser menu bar and the vPlan menu bar. By clicking on the icon you can easily switch the full screen view on or off.

Tip

You can quickly return to the original display with the ESC key.

Backlog

At the top right you will find the green Backlog button. Your backlog is the place where you create all your work, or where your orders from an integration automatically end up. So this is your work that still needs to be planned. From the backlog you can drag the cards into the planning. In the backlog you can ensure that you only see the information that is important to you at that moment. This can be done by filtering or sorting. Want to know more about the backlog? Then read this article.
