If you want to assign a resource to a plan map, but you don't have the ability to do so within the map, check the following steps:
1. Is the resource linked to your plan board?
A resource can be created by an administrator. A resource that is created must then be linked to one or more planning boards.
To link a resource to a planning board, follow the steps in this help article: How do I get a new resource visible on my planning board?
2. Does the resource have a schedule?
If you have not entered a work schedule in the resource's master data, then vPlan does not know on which days the resource is available and you cannot assign the resource to a scheduling board.
To check whether a resource has a schedule, as an administrator you go to Settings in the menu bar of vPlan. Then go to Resources in the menu bar. Now open the resource and click on Edit in the top right corner.
In the edit screen you can enter the schedule and save it at the bottom of the page.
3. Is your resource available on the day that you have planned a card?
If your resource has a schedule, but is not working on Wednesday for example, the resource is not available on the planning cards you have planned for Wednesday.
4. Is the planning map scheduled on an unavailable day?
You should have indicated plannable days in the configuration of your planning board. The most common schedulable days are Monday to Friday. If you then plan a card for a Saturday, you will have no available resources on that day.
