Track time
Updated over 7 months ago

An important part within vPlan is time tracking. There are three ways to track time in vPlan, via timer, time duration or frame. This article explains the different ways.

To register time, you will first need to add an activity. When you open a card, you can add activities to it yourself. Read here how to do this.

Then you will have to enable the time registration option in the card. You do this by clicking on the clock icon on the right side of the card.

Timer

Next to the added activities you will see a timer icon on the left. When you click on the timer, the time registration will start automatically. You will also see this on the card:

Under the heading Time tracking, you will see how long the timer has been running. As shown in the example above, this timer has been running for almost two minutes. After completing the activity, you can easily click the red button to stop the timer. After clicking stop, the time is automatically recorded.

Accidentally registered a few minutes too much? If you point your mouse to a time tracking, a pencil appears. Click on it to easily adjust the time recording.

Card

If the time recording is started on a card, this will also be visible in the planning. The cards will have a red dot, so that you can quickly see on which cards time is currently tracked.

Duration

Another way to easily register your time is through the Duration option. Within the Time tracking section of the card you can see all the time registered to date. You also have the option to track your own time. You do this simply by clicking on the button Add time.
Here you can choose the option Duration. At this option you can select an activity and indicate on which date you want to register how many hours on the activity. After entering the time duration you will see that the number of hours remaining will be reduced. You can also leave a note with this time recording. Click the Save button to record your time.

Time frame

The last option to track your time is with the Time frame option. In the map, within the Time tracking section, you can see all time registered to date. In addition, here you have the option to register time yourself. You do this simply by clicking on the button Add time.
Here you have the possibility to click on the option Time frame. At the option Time frame you can select an activity from the card and indicate the start and end date and start and end time of this activity. You can also leave a note at this time slot. When you click Save, the total time will be automatically recorded in the card.
