Automatically add dependencies
Updated over a week ago

In vPlan you can work with dependencies. With this you determine that work in your planboard should not be started before other work is finished. How to manually create dependencies between cards is described in the corresponding article.
In this article, we describe how to automatically create dependencies between cards by setting up this automation.

  • When card is created on stage something, add dependency blocks/depends to cards in stage something

You can set up this automation if you use dependencies a lot in vPlan. In the bolded places you can set up the conditions. The first is which stage the automation should work on. At the second you choose whether the succeeding card should be dependent, or blocking to the planned card. With the last one, you decide which successive stage the cards should be made dependent on.

Example
When card is created on stage Work Preparation, add dependency dependent to cards in stage Production.
If you set the automation this way, then a dependency is automatically placed to the cards in the production stage as soon as you schedule work preparation.
