Statuses

This article explains the third tab of the planboard settings. This one is about statuses. In your planboard, it is possible to clearly see the progress of your cards through statuses.

These statuses are divided into three categories: open statuses, active statuses, and completed statuses. Below is an explanation of each category.

Open statuses

Open statuses indicate that a task has yet to be started. These cards are planned, but the work on the card has not yet begun.
When you use dependencies or move a collection by dragging the dot, only cards with an open status are moved.

In progress statuses

In progress statuses show that work is currently being done on a task. This is the phase in which the task is in progress.

Completed statuses

Completed statuses indicate that a task has been fully completed. If you assign a card a completed status before it has been scheduled, the hours will not be counted in the capacity.

When you first start using vPlan, there are three default statuses: Open, In Progress, and Done. A board must always have at least two statuses, with at least one open and one completed status.

You can easily modify existing statuses, for example, to change the name or color. You can do this by clicking on the name or the pencil icon at the end of the line. The color of the status is clearly visible in every view on your board.

You can also add statuses yourself. You create a status by clicking on the Add status button. A menu will open where you can choose a name and the color of your status. Once you have clicked the Save button, you can drag this status to the correct category and start using it in your board.
