What is the difference between archiving and deleting activities, resources and users?
Updated over a week ago

In vPlan you can delete data from your set-up, such as activities, resources, users and even boards. However, once deleted, it's truly gone. If you want to clean up your system, it may be wise to archive your data instead of deleting it. This way you keep your history, and you can always undo the action.

Resources & activities

With the archive option, you can make sure that activities and resources can no longer be selected in your board, without actually deleting them. This preserves your history in cards that were planned in the past.

Users

Archiving a user means that the user can no longer log in to vPlan. However, the user's history (such as events) will still be available, instead of the user appearing as "Unknown" in the vPlan logs.

Boards

If you use a board for only one project, you can archive it after completing the project. This way, you can always review all the history of this project whenever you want.
