Learn from the past and anticipate the future with the Analytics view of vPlan. The analytics is not a planning view, but a view that returns information based on your planning. This includes information about your capacity and tracked time.

Reported time by Activity or by User

Within the analytics section, a graph shows the reported time by activity or by user for a certain period. The tracked time can be shown for the following periods: today, this week, this month, this year, last week and last month.

You can easily select the desired period at the top left of the view. At the top right of the view you can navigate forward or backward a period using the arrows.

Graphs are made of the reported time. By hovering over it with your mouse, you can see the total hours of the selected period.

By clicking on the name of an activity or user (in the legend), you can hide the time of that specific resource.

Timeline

The analytics view also shows a timeline of reported time over the period you choose. In addition, the planned and available hours are displayed here in a line or bar chart. The timeline can be shown for the following periods: today, this week, this month, this year, last week and last month.
There are two types of views available for the timeline, Line and Bar. The dates are on the X-axis and the hours are on the Y-axis.
The Bar view displays the available, planned and reported hours in a bar chart. In the Line view, the available, planned and reported hours are shown in a line chart.

A few things can be set within the timeline, namely the hours that are shown per resource type. You can choose between all resources, employees, machines and cells.

In addition, it can be indicated for which stage the hours are shown within the Timeline.

Data analysis

In the analytics view, the Data analysis section shows the data resulting from the reported time. The data analysis can be shown for the following periods: today, this week, this month, this year, last week and last month.

Within the Data analysis you can choose from two options, namely: Stages and Activities.

Export data to Excel

In its data analysis, vPlan shows a lot of information about the available, planned and reported time. You can easily create an Excel export by clicking the Export to Excel button. An Excel file will be downloaded locally to your computer.

You can also search by activities or stages to easily filter your data analysis.

Stages

For the stages section you can see certain information for the selected period. This information shown for the selected period is:

- The number of planned cards per stage
- Amount of planned activities per stage
- Number of available hours per stage
- The number of planned hours per stage
- The number of reported hours per stage
- The number of remaining hours per stage
- The result per stage

Activities

For the activities section you can see certain information for the selected period. This information shown for the selected period is:

- The quantity of cards planned on this activity
- The number of planned hours per activity
- The number of reported hours per activity
- The number of remaining hours per activity
- The result per activity

In the data analysis you see all kinds of different hours. You can read how these are constructed here:

Available
This is your total capacity on that stage or activity.

Planned
These are all estimated hours of all cards planned on that stage or activity within the period you are looking at. If you have a card planned over a long period, which partly falls outside the period in which you view the analysis, only the hours within the viewed period will be counted.

Reported
These are all your recorded hours for that stage or activity. All time registrations within the period you are looking at, within that activity or stage.

Remaining
These are all remaining hours of all cards within this activity or stage.

Result
These hours show your efficiency. This is your planned time minus the recorded hours and minus the remaining time. So, for example, if you have planned 5 hours, registered 4 hours and nothing remains, your result is +1.
