In vPlan you can divide work processes over multiple plan boards. For example, a planning board for production, and one for assembly. Ideally, if a card is rounded off on one plan board, you want it to automatically continue in the process to the next plan board.
In this way, your work processes are kept separate and there is as much overview as possible.
Attention: More information about automations can be found here: Automations
Automatisations are set on the Settings page of your plan board. To do so, go from vPlan to Settings > Planboards in the menu bar. Then select the planning board you want to change and go to the Automations tab. There you click on ''Add automation''.
How does this automation work?
With the automation ''When status in stage something changes to something, duplicate the collection to backlog something, including activities and/or labels and/or reactions and/or followers, and set due date to something plus/minus workdays'' you can ensure that a copy of a card is automatically created in plan board B when a card is completed in the last stage of plan board A.
The parameters you set are stage, status, plan board, activities, labels, reactions, followers and due date. For stages, you choose which stage of your scheduling board the automation should be triggered on. Next, choose the status at which the card must be copied. Then you determine to which plan board the copy must be moved. Finally, you indicate which data must be copied.
The card is copied to the backlog of the selected planning board if it meets the requirements of the automation.
Note: To copy labels and activities from the original plan board to the next plan board, you must ensure that the same labels and activities are also set up on the next plan board.
The rest of the data is copied automatically:
-Title
-Description
-Custom fields
-Due date
Data that is not copied:
-Attachments
-Integration information
Example:
Suppose you sell curtains. In addition to making the curtains to measure, you also provide the service of hanging the curtains. When the production process is completed, the assembly order has to be planned. In the video below we show you how you can run one job through two boards.
Tip: Do you want the copied card to be planned immediately and not to appear in the backlog? Then you can set this with the following automation: Automatically plan cards moved from plan board to plan board
