Plan dates are key in vPlan. Would you like to be pro-actively alerted to approaching deadlines? Then read on.
In addition to the standard notifications from vPlan, you can configure your own notifications in the automation centre. There are several options that can trigger a notification.
- Notification of approaching or exceeding due date.
- Notification of approaching or exceeding plan date(s).
As always, with these automations, you can also determine which conditions apply, and to which users the automation will be sent.

Do you want to be informed about an approaching or exceeding deadline? Then set up the following automation:
Conditions:
The conditions to be set on which this automation is activated are:
Planned/Unplanned: Choose whether the automation applies to planned or unplanned cards (or both).
Number: Choose a number of days
Days/Workdays: Choose whether it is working days or calendar days
Before/After: Select whether you want to be alerted before or after the due date (this relates to the number of days you have previously selected).
Example situation:
You have a production time of 2 weeks and you want to be warned 3 weeks before the agreed delivery date if a card is not yet planned. You can then set up the automation as follows:
2. Notification of approaching or exceeding planning date(s).
When the start date of a planned card is approaching, or the end date has passed and the card has not yet been completed? There are several situations you might want to be alerted to.
With the automation below, you have the flexibility to decide for yourself:
Conditions:
The conditions that can be set on which this automation is activated are:
Start/End: Choose whether to send a notification based on the start or end date of a card. This condition is only relevant when the start and end dates are different in a planning card. If this is not the case, you can choose one of the two options.
Stage: Choose one or more stages where the automation should apply.
Number: Choose the number of days.
Days/Workdays: Choose whether the number of days entered should be based on calendar days or working days.
Before/after: Choose whether you want to be notified before or after the start/end date.
Status: Choose in which status you want to be notified.
User: Determine which users should receive the notification.
Example situation:
You want to be alerted if the assembly activity has not been completed one a working day before the end date of a card. You can then use this alert as follows:
