You can easily add new activities to vPlan yourself. These activities are linked to the orders and are planned. Based on the setup, vPlan plans the activities in the right phase of the plan board.
Go to the Configuration menu and click on the Activities icon, as shown in the image below.
You will now find an overview of existing activities. Activities that are included in your ERP will be shown on this page. To add a resource manually, click on the button Add activity, which can be found in the top right corner.
When you have clicked on this button, you will be directed to the page where you can enter the data. Here you can enter the; Description, Code, Default Duration, Maximum duration and Type of the activity.
The fields have the following function:
Description: The name of the activity as it is displayed in vPlan
Code: An activity code, usually used for integrations. This field is not required.
Default duration: If your activity always takes the same amount of time, you can enter a default duration here. Then you don't have to fill it in manually for plan cards with this activity.
Maximum time per day: Sometimes a machine can run for 24 hours, or an employee has a daily schedule of 8 hours. You can set the maximum amount of time that an activity can be performed per day for each activity. If the card is planned longer than the maximum activity, the card is automatically spread over several days. For example, you can perform the activity "sawing" for a maximum of 8 hours per day. If you then schedule this activity with 24 hours of sawing, vPlan automatically schedules this activity over three days.
Type: Choose what type of resource will perform this activity. Is it a Machine, an employee or a room?
Preferred resource: If an activity is always performed by the same resource, you can set that here. vPlan then automatically assigns a resource to the card when it is scheduled with this activity.
When all fields are filled, simply click the Save button.
Tip:
Activities can only be carried out by Resources of the same type.
It is possible to link specific activities to a resource. This indicates which activities can be executed by the resource.
You have now successfully created a new activity manually.
