As a Planner or Administrator you can lock cards in vPlan. Locking a card prevents other users from changing it and ensures that the planning date is fixed.
However, this does not apply to all the data in the card. The following data can still be filled in or changed by other users:
-Extra fields
-Expiry date
-Checklists
-Cover colour/photo
-Following up/receiving card
-Post reactions
What can other users not modify?
-Title
-Description
-Status
-Start date
-End date
-Activities
-Time registration
-Resources
-Splitting cards
-Labels
A locked card can be unlocked by the user who locked it, or by a set automation: (see article).
To lock a card, open the card in your planning board.
Then go to the action menu of the card in the top right corner:
Then click on Lock card
You have now locked the card. You can see this because the action menu has disappeared. A lock icon has appeared in its place.
You will also notice that many fields in the cards are no longer clickable.
In the plan board itself, you can also clearly see when a card is locked, because an orange frame has been placed around it:
Or a lock like in the list and timeline view:
Dragging and dropping cards at the front of your planning board is no longer possible.
To unlock a card again, the card must be opened by the user who locked it. Then click the lock icon again in the top right corner to unlock the card:
All locked actions in the card are now available to other users again.
