Zapier is a popular integration platform that allows vPlan users to build their own integrations between vPlan and various other platforms available within the Zapier platform. Every connection you make within Zapier is called a zap. A zap consists of a trigger and an action.
A trigger is an event that triggers a connection. For example, the event when a card is created in vPlan. The trigger causes a subsequent action to take place; the action. The action completes the zap, for example 'make an appointment in Google Calendar'.
Important: To create zaps you must have a vPlan account and a Zapier account. No Zapier account yet? Make your Zapier account here
vPlan and Zapier
vPlan now also offers triggers and actions on the Zapier platform. This means that we make it possible for vPlan users to link with more than +2,000 apps. The possibilities are endless,
Therefore, here is an example to see the powerful combination.
You have the following spreadsheet:
Each new row must become a plan card in vPlan.
First create a trigger in your Zapier account. Find the app Google Sheets:
Select the appropriate trigger event:
Log in with your Google account for access and authorization to retrieve data from Google Sheets:
Choose your account and select the correct spreadsheet and worksheet:
You can now test the trigger:
The trigger is successful! We can now continue to set up the Action. Find vPlan and select the desired action:
Log in with your vPlan account to authorise data exchange:
Select the newly authorised account and set up the action. You will find the standard fields available on a card. Then select the board and phase in which the card is to be planned. Use additional fields to fill other columns in the Google Sheet. All required fields must be filled and saved:
Now that the action has been set up, you can test the whole zap:
You can now 'turn on' the Zap. From now on, every new line in my sheet becomes a plan card in vPlan.
